Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of Annora, the Android application published by Trivartha. Please read them before you install and use the app.

Effective date: 30 October 2026  ·  Last updated: 30 October 2026  ·  Version 1.0.0

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and Trivartha, Vadodara, Gujarat, India ("Trivartha", "we", "us"), the publisher of the Annora mobile application (the "App" or the "Service").

By downloading, installing, opening or otherwise using the App, you accept these Terms and you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the App, and uninstall it if you have already installed it.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Policy, which form part of these Terms. If any part of the App, or any use of it, conflicts with these Terms, the Terms govern.

2. The Annora service

Annora is an offline-first household grocery and essentials inventory application for Android. It lets you record the items you keep at home, with quantities, units, prices and purchase, manufacturing and expiry dates, and it provides an expiry view, a shopping list, a spending report, a monthly budget and optional reminders and scanning features.

The App is provided free of charge and without any warranty. The App is a household organisation tool. It is not a food-safety system, a medical device, a professional accounting service or a source of nutritional, health, legal or financial advice.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, and we may distribute it through Google Play or other channels at our discretion.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, or the minimum age at which you may lawfully consent to the processing of your data in your country, whichever is higher. If you use the App on behalf of a household, you are responsible for the entries made on that device.

There is no registration. Annora does not create an account for you, does not ask for an email address or a password, and does not provide a user identifier. Because of this, and because all data is stored on your device, Annora cannot recover a lost device, restore a lost database, or link a request you make to a specific person. Please keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

4. Licence to use Annora

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices that you own or control, for your personal or internal household use.

You agree not to, and not to permit anyone else to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by law;
  • modify, translate, adapt, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise exploit the App or any part of it;
  • remove, alter or obscure any proprietary notice, label or mark on the App;
  • use the App to build a competing product, or to extract the bundled product illustrations, artwork or product database for use in another application or dataset;
  • use automated means to scrape, crawl or test the App for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • use the App in violation of any applicable law, or in a way that infringes the rights of anyone else.

Annora is licensed to you, not sold to you. Title to the App and to the intellectual property in it remains with Trivartha and its licensors.

5. Your data

Your inventory data belongs to you. Every item, batch, price, date, note, shopping list entry, budget and spending record you create is yours. Trivartha claims no ownership of it and holds no copy of it, because it never leaves your device. You alone are responsible for its accuracy and for keeping your own backups.

You grant us no licence to your inventory data, because we never receive it. If you export your data to CSV and share it, you are sharing it with the app or service you chose to share it with, under that service's terms.

You are responsible for the content of the notes and item names you enter, and for making sure that entering them is lawful and does not infringe anyone's rights. You may delete anything you have entered at any time, in the way described in the Data Deletion Policy.

6. Acceptable use

In addition to the restrictions in section 4, you agree that you will not:

  • use the App for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any regulation or sanction;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, to any device on which it runs, or to any system used to deliver it;
  • send excessive or automated requests to the Open Food Facts catalogue or to any AI endpoint you configure, or otherwise use those third-party services in a way that breaks their terms;
  • transmit malware, or use the App in a way that harms the network or other users;
  • misrepresent Annora as a certified, certified-labelled, medical, safety-certified or official product;
  • use the App to infringe copyright, database rights, trade marks or any other intellectual property right, including by uploading or recording content you are not entitled to use.

We may investigate a suspected breach and may block or remove functionality where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken.

7. Third-party services and features

Certain features of the App interact with services that we do not operate. Your use of those features is subject to the terms of the relevant provider, and we do not control those services.

7.1 Open Food Facts product catalogue

When you scan a barcode that is not already in your inventory, Annora queries the public product catalogue operated by Open Food Facts at https://world.openfoodfacts.org and may download a product image from their image servers. Open Food Facts is an independent, community-run project and is not a Trivartha service.

Product information and product images obtained through Open Food Facts are made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) and Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike terms, and remain the property of their respective contributors. Annora does not assert ownership over them.

7.2 The optional AI reader

Annora includes an optional feature that can read a package photograph using a large language model hosted at an endpoint that you configure. Trivartha does not operate that service, does not resell access to it, is not a party to your relationship with your provider, and receives no data through it. You are responsible for your provider's terms, your own use of it, and the costs your usage incurs.

You are responsible for reviewing any value, quantity, price or date that the feature suggests before you save it. Automated extraction can and does produce incorrect results, and you must check anything that matters.

7.3 Your device and operating system

The App relies on services provided by your device manufacturer and operating system, including Google Play services and the on-device machine-learning components used for barcode and text recognition. Those components are governed by Google's own terms and privacy documentation, which we do not control.

7.4 Google Play

The App is distributed through Google Play. Downloading and installing it from Google Play is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Play Distribution Agreement, in addition to these Terms.

8. No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

In particular, and without limiting the above, Annora does not warrant that:

  • the data read from a package, a barcode lookup or an AI response will be accurate, complete or correct;
  • expiry reminders, low-stock warnings or budget alerts will be generated, delivered or seen in time;
  • the App will function on every device, or that it will be free of defects, or that defects will be corrected;
  • the App will prevent food waste, or that ignoring a reminder is safe.

Annora is a convenience and a bookkeeping aid. Always check the actual packaging, label and dates of the products in your home, and follow the storage instructions printed on them. Annora is not a substitute for food safety guidance or for professional advice of any kind, including medical, nutritional, legal or financial advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trivartha and its licensors, employees, agents and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, food, or for any business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App — whether the claim is based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trivartha's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the App shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the App (which is nil, as the App is provided free of charge) or INR 1,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of India.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Trivartha, its licensors, employees and agents from and against any third-party claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: your use of the App in breach of these Terms; your breach of any third-party provider's terms through your use of a feature such as the AI reader or the Open Food Facts catalogue; your infringement of any third-party intellectual property right through content you enter or share; or your unlawful or fraudulent use of the App.

11. Intellectual property

Annora, the name and logo of the App, the "FreshStock" visual design system, the application code, the bundled product illustrations and artwork, and all other intellectual property in the App are owned by or licensed to Trivartha, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.

We do not claim ownership of the information you enter into the App, or of the product data and images retrieved from the Open Food Facts catalogue, which remain subject to the ODbL and Creative Commons attribution requirements described in section 7.1.

Annora contains open-source third-party components, including Google ML Kit, the Flutter framework and the mobile_scanner package, each of which is licensed under its own open-source licence. These Terms do not limit the rights you have under those licences.

If you would like to use the Annora name, logo or artwork in a way that is not covered by these Terms, please contact us at support@trivartha.com and ask.

12. Changes, availability and termination

12.1 Changes to the App. We may update the App from time to time, for example to add features, fix defects or adapt it to new operating system requirements. We may also change, suspend or withdraw any feature or the App as a whole, and may stop distributing it, at any time and without notice. Some features may depend on third-party services that we do not control, and may therefore become unavailable.

12.2 Changes to these Terms. We may revise these Terms by publishing an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the App.

12.3 Termination. These Terms take effect the moment you use the App and end when you uninstall it. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14 survive termination.

12.4 Uninstalling. Uninstalling Annora removes the App, its local database and any stored API key from your device. See the Data Deletion Policy for the full effect of uninstalling.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at Vadodara, Gujarat, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

Consumer dispute resolution. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India) or any other applicable consumer legislation, including the right to approach the appropriate consumer forum, the National Consumer Helpline or the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Where you are a consumer, we ask that you first write to us at support@trivartha.com, and we will make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue directly.

14. General

14.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Data Deletion Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Trivartha regarding the App, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understanding on that subject.

14.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if it cannot be so modified, severed. The remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

14.3 No waiver. A failure or delay in exercising any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.

14.4 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or successor in connection with a merger, reorganisation, sale of assets or transfer of the App, on notice to you through the App or this website.

14.5 Force majeure. Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, epidemic, strikes, government action or failures of third-party networks and services.

14.6 Notices. Notices to you may be given by displaying them in the App, by publishing them on this website, or by email to the address you have provided to us. Notices to us must be sent to support@trivartha.com.
